Frozen Nights

Mixing

Frozen Nights is a song recorded by one of my friends that he sent me to Mix. He sent me a rough mix and an Ableton session, so I was able to understand his creative ideas and what he wanted from the song. The first problem area I was able to address was cleaning up the bass. The synth bass sound he used was super wide and moved around a lot between the left and right channels. I fixed this by adding a sub bass which would keep the low end mono and would still allow the bass to sound wide and full.

I’m Alright (Quick Mix)

Mixing

This was a mix I did with stems from Cambridge Music Technology. Some of the highlight work I did for this mix includes double tracking the acoustic guitars during the chorus, processing the drums to be punchy and cut through the mix using parallel compression, and arranging the song in an interesting way.

Intro + Spection

Recording, Mixing

Intro + Spection are the combined first two songs of an album I am recording for an artist named James Oliver. The piano was recorded in the UVU studio using a Blumlein pair of microphones as room mics and a spaced pair set up inside the piano.

Six of One

Mixing

This was my mix for a song titled Six of One from my first audio class at UVU. Since then I have updated the balance, dialed in the time based effects, and added more compression to get everything to sit right.

Headshot

Headshot is a personal EDM project that I produced and mixed. The first sound you hear in this song is actually a gunshot sample from a popular video game, that was resampled using a plugin called CHROMA to turn it from an harsh atonal sound into a tonal sound.
